Only 1 New Year's Resolution Worth Making

I want to talk about “New Year’s Resolutions” with you for a minute.

I’m going to be honest; I’ve been writing this article for days! Writing, rewriting, researching, reading, cutting, pasting, questioning and rearranging.

After time in prayer, I deleted 90% of it.

I removed the heart-opening quotes from A Course in Miracles about starting a new year. I erased paragraphs full of good reasoning, prayer-full pearls of wisdom, my funny little anecdotes, attention-grabbing graphics, and thoughtful explanations. DELETE!

I gathered all the wisdom I collected and broke it down as simply as I could until it was only bare bones.

Here goes!

Don’t base your New Year’s resolution on changing anything of the body or fixing any factor outside of you such as your looks, social life, workplace, finances, relationships, habits or personality traits.

It doesn’t work. It’s never worked. It’s not going to work this year. It just won’t work.

Lurking beneath those resolutions, what you really want is to feel more love, more abundant, healthy and safe. You are merely trading one illusion for another… over and over and over again.

You ARE pure Love, you have everything and you are eternally safe with God.

The ONLY resolution worth making is to remove the blocks to this Truth; to God.

However, and listen carefully: None of this is going to happen unless you choose it for yourself.

Stop looking for Love in all the wrong places!

Jesus didn’t go into the desert for 40 days to lose weight or to become a better healer so he’d earn more golden coins! His ONLY resolve was to Know God. To Know Himself.

He knew he had to shift out of his normal patterns. He chose to attune Himself to new frequencies that are always there but drowned out when we’re sleep walking through life. He created a space for more Light to come in.

Now that’s a resolution!

After 40 days, He left the desert enlightened. Jesus no longer identified himself as the son of Joseph but as the Son of God. He knew He was never alone. He felt the totality of the great Love of God in a way that He’d never felt before. He knew He was in the Presence of an infinite, eternal substance, richly endowed with the fullness of All-Good. Now, He was aligned with an unshakable, invulnerable Love, security and abundance.

I want THAT for 2016. Will you join me?

You’ll be amazed at how your problems, pain and sickness disappear when you realize how directly your thoughts and your physical experiences are connected and when you choose to make room for God’s Love.

Saying “Yes” is the single most important New Year’s Resolution you could ever make. In Truth, it’s the only one worth making.

So, set aside the diets and the guilty promises to be “better” in 2016 and join me for a time of discovery and awareness. For 40 days, you will acknowledge that there is a Presence & Power with you, as you. This Presence is your Inner Teacher and your Guide. This is how joyful, Loving, brilliant and lasting transformation happens.

The New 40-Day Program – What It Is – and New Bonus Feature: Ending Addiction Once And For All.

I love the idea of new year, a new beginning and a clean slate.

You might already know this – I am doing a new 40-Day Program with new videos, new messages and new content starting on January 1, 2016 – which is this coming Friday.

HOW I ENDED ALCOHOLISM ON THE SPOT:

I’m adding the new optional feature/agreement because its how I ended 5 years of struggling with alcoholism and cigarette smoking. I went on a 30-Day Retreat in March 2001 where I was required TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT saying that for 30-Days I would not smoke, drink, do drugs or eat meat while I was there. These were the conditions to attend the retreat and I had to sign an agreement … and I was happy and excited to do it!!

I thought: YES, OF COURSE! 30-DAYS! NO PROBLEM! I CAN DO THAT. EASILY.

I was excited by the idea. It wasn’t a struggle at all. I wanted to give 100% and I knew that my life was about to change dramatically.

So I signed the agreement KNOWING – it was an absolute Knowing – that I could easily go 30-days without engaging in my usual self-sabotaging behavior.

I knew I could 30-Days without a drink or a cigarette.

And that was the key.

I KNEW I would not “pick up” again for 30 days. I knew it was going to be easy. I knew I would not drink, smoke, do drugs or eat meat because I really wanted a new experience and I trusted that these people knew what they were doing. I was excited even. It felt good. It felt great.

And alcoholism and my desire to smoke left me. I never picked up again. That was almost 15 years ago in March 2001. I have never had a single craving since. The addiction literally left me.

This is the kind of healing described in A Course in Miracles – where there is no “process. You make an Inner Shift in your mind and everything changes.

So, I’m adding this NEW FEATURE to the 40-Day Program to anyone who is interested in stopping a way of being that is not serving you.

Again, it’s totally optional. I don’t care if you drink or smoke or do drugs or eat meat. I have no judgment whatsoever. There’s no right or wrong. You’re totally free to do what you want and nothing can change your reality in truth – YOU ARE SPIRIT, WHOLE AND PERFECT.

If you love drinking and smoking, go right ahead and enjoy!

However, if you want to quit something, I support you in letting it go. I encourage you to use these 40-days as a new life for yourself.

Only you know if there’s something in your life that’s a distraction and that’s numbing you. Only you know if you’re ready to let it go. It can be sugar, shopping, tv, alcohol, drugs, Facebook, etc.

And then you’ll sign an agreement to yourself and we’ll do it together for 40-days – a new way of living.

THE NEW 40-DAY PROGRAM – WHAT IT IS:

It’s a 40-day Trip where you get to know your Self – your True Self.

The 40-Day Program begins on January 1, 2016 – which is this coming Friday.

It’s different that the last one.

I’m doing new videos and new messages.

You will be clearing things out BEFORE we begin (clearing your physical space AND your mental space – getting rid of things that no longer serve you – complaining, grievances, judgments).

You’ll be making a commitment to stand still and allow everything to be EXACTLY as it is without fixing it so that whatever is buried in you has a chance to come to the surface so it can be released.

AND finally, you will be writing YOUR TRUE WAY OF BEING – how you are in truth, how God created you. You’ll be using ideas from the workbook lessons of A Course in Miracles to write this NEW WAY OF BEING.

For example: I AM SPIRIT. God is my Source. I am not alone. I have a Guide. He leads. I follow. I’m whole, complete, healed and perfect. The peace of God is shining in me now. God is Love and so am I. I choose the joy of God over pain. I’m strong, powerful, certain and unlimited. Light and peace and joy abide in me. Etc.

You’ll be asking in quiet for your own vision, remembering WHAT YOU ARE IN TRUTH, then add in specific details about what your day looks like. What your life looks like, now that all your problems have been solved, now that the problem of separation has been solved.

You’ll be making The Inner Shift from fear to love before we even begin Day 1.

Then making a commitment TO LIVE and BE your True Way of Being for the entire 40-days.

It will be 40-days of WATCHING YOURSELF LIKE A HAWK.

You will be Watching and Noticing and Paying Attention to your thoughts, feelings, emotions, responses, reactions. Paying attention to the words that come out of your mouth, and the thoughts you think – realizing there are no idle thoughts.

All thoughts have power, so you’ll be paying attention during this time to what you are thinking and saying and feeling.

And 40-Days of acknowledging that you have a Guide, an Inner Teacher.

It’s 40-days of knowing you are not alone. 40-Days of Quieting your mind, Listening to guidance, receiving instructions and following them, LEARNING TO TRUST. A retreat from the world, a retreat from all your stories.

There will be 3 days of Getting Ready (starting on January 1st) before we actually enter into the 40-days with “Day 1” on January 4th.

HAPPINESS IS A DECISION YOU MUST MAKE.

Another important element in this 40-days is that IT’S FOR YOU.

When Jesus was in his 40-days, he was alone. He didn’t try to help anyone.

He did not to be nice or kind or good. He didn’t even try to be helpful.

This was a time for his undoing, for purification, for communion with God, and for confronting his fears, looking directly at them and not running away. When the 40-days was over, and HE KNEW WHO HE WAS AND WHO GOD IS, then his public ministry began.

THEN – when his 40-Days ended – he was very active with people – but not a minute before.

There are no recorded miracles BEFORE Jesus entered into the wilderness.

The miracles all came after he left the desert, when HE KNEW it was God who was doing everything.

“Miracles occur naturally as an expression of love.” -A Course in Miracles

The 40-days is a time of being tempted by the devil (the ego – your own fear-based thoughts, which are unreal) .

This 40-days is for you, for your undoing, for your release, for your connection with God. And NOT a time to help others. It’s not a time to be a “nice” person to others. It’s not a time to teach to others in the hopes “they get it.”

For 40-days Jesus was alone with himself with his thoughts.

And so it is with you – this is your time. It’s for you.

40-Days is a gift you give to yourself.

A Christmas gift for you! You can open it now!

Merry Christmas to you from me and our entire team at the Teachers of God Foundation.

It’s two days before Christmas and the peace of God is shining in you now.

Christmas is meant to be a time of celebration, peace and joy but often it’s a time when people feel overwhelmed, depressed, filled with guilt about not being able to get it all done. It often brings up a lot of old family issues. Plus it’s dark and cold.

I wanted to give you a gift that can change your whole mood this holiday season and for the rest of your life.

It’s morning and I’m still in bed (“the children were nestled, all snug in their bed”) and I just had coffee with Jesus – my daily morning routine – and I was sitting here thinking: “I want to give all my friends the best gift ever.”

I wanted it to be a REAL gift, not just nice sounding words. I wanted it to be something you could use, something of value, something that would bring you joy.

And I reached over for A Course in Miracles, opened it up and it landed on Workbook Lesson 188: The peace of God is shining in me now.

And instantly, I knew: THIS IS IT!!!

This is the gift I want to give you this Christmas.

The gift of Christ vision, where you see only love. The gift of healing, where you know how to use the Power and Light of God that has been given to you to heal all things.

MERRY CHRISTMAS.

The peace of God is a gift you already have – given to you by God.

MY GIFT to you is to bring it back into your awareness so you can start using it.

I love you.

Most people have no idea that there is a light in them which can literally heal anything. This light removes all fear, darkness, addiction, sorrow, sickness and pain. FOR REAL.

But like any gift, you have to use it. You have to know about it. You have to plug it in, play with it, test it out.

Same with the light that is in you. It’s THERE as a huge beautiful gift for you but if you don’t take it out of the box and use it, it’s useless. It literally does nothing, even though it has the power to heal every aspect of your life.

If you know me as a teacher, you know that my whole approach is: Try it out. Experiment with this idea. Take it for a test-run in your life and then you will see for yourself that it works.

I’m very big on people seeing things for themselves, with their own eyes, as a direct experience.

You’ll know that what I am saying is true when you see all your problems disappear one by one.

You’ll know for yourself that this light really DOES heal all things when you see pain and sickness dissolve from your experience.

You’ll know it when you begin to feel happy.

So today, I give you a gift and I ask you to take it out of the box and use it.

Simply know that the peace of God is shining in you now. It’s there SHINING without you doing anything, but while you were focused on your problems and grievances and fear, you didn’t know it was there.

This light has always been in you – sitting dormant – and today you are going to recognize it and get it flowing.

YOU WILL BE AMAZED BY WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU BECOME AWARE OF THIS LIGHT AND BEGIN TO DELIBERATELY EXTEND IT.

It’s a simple practice.

Follow these instructions and be healed.

Lesson 188
The peace of God is shining in me now.

Why wait for Heaven? Those who seek the light are merely covering their eyes. The light is in them now. Enlightenment is but a recognition, not a change at all. Light is not of the world, yet you who bear the light in you are alien here as well. The light came with you from your native home, and stayed with you because it is your own. It is the only thing you bring with you from Him Who is your Source. It shines in you because it lights your home, and leads you back to where it came from and you are at home.

This light can not be lost. Why wait to find it in the future, or believe it has been lost already, or was never there? It can so easily be looked upon that arguments which prove it is not there become ridiculous. Who can deny the presence of what he beholds in him? It is not difficult to look within, for there all vision starts. There is no sight, be it of dreams or from a truer Source, that is not but the shadow of the seen through inward vision. There perception starts, and there it ends. It has no source but this.

The peace of God is shining in you now, and from your heart extends around the world. It pauses to caress each living thing, and leaves a blessing with it that remains forever and forever. What it gives must be eternal. It removes all thoughts of the ephemeral and valueless. It brings renewal to all tired hearts, and lights all vision as it passes by. All of its gifts are given everyone, and everyone unites in giving thanks to you who give, and you who have received.

The shining in your mind reminds the world of what it has forgotten, and the world restores the memory to you as well. From you salvation radiates with gifts beyond all measure, given and returned. To you, the giver of the gift, does God Himself give thanks. And in His blessing does the light in you shine brighter, adding to the gifts you have to offer to the world.

The peace of God can never be contained. Who recognizes it within himself must give it. And the means for giving it are in his understanding. He forgives because he recognized the truth in him. The peace of God is shining in you now, and in all living things. In quietness is it acknowledged universally. For what your inward vision looks upon is your perception of the universe.

Sit quietly and close your eyes. The light within you is sufficient. It alone has power to give the gift of sight to you. Exclude the outer world, and let your thoughts fly to the peace within. They know the way. For honest thoughts, untainted by the dream of worldly things outside yourself, become the holy messengers of God Himself.

These thoughts you think with Him. They recognize their home. And they point surely to their Source, Where God the Father and the Son are One. God’s peace is shining on them, but they must remain with you as well, for they were born within your mind, as yours was born in God’s. They lead you back to peace, from where they came but to remind you how you must return.

They heed your Father’s Voice when you refuse to listen. And they urge you gently to accept His Word for what you are, instead of fantasies and shadows. They remind you that you are the co-creator of all things that live. For as the peace of God is shining in you, it must shine on them.

We practice coming nearer to the light in us today. We take our wandering thoughts, and gently bring them back to where they fall in line with all the thoughts we share with God. We will not let them stray. We let the light within our minds direct them to come home. We have betrayed them, ordering that they depart from us. But now we call them back, and wash them clean of strange desires and disordered wishes. We restore to them the holiness of their inheritance.

Thus are our minds restored with them, and we acknowledge that the peace of God still shines in us, and from us to all living things that share our life. We will forgive them all, absolving all the world from what we thought it did to us. For it is we who make the world as we would have it. Now we choose that it be innocent, devoid of sin and open to salvation. And we lay our saving blessing on it, as we say:

The peace of God is shining in me now.
Let all things shine upon me in that peace,
And let me bless them with the light in me.

You are the Christ, I am the Christ by Bill Free

Jesus leads the way to the Truth and the Light and this is Christmas…

THANK YOU our brother and friend. We love you.

I had a talk last week and one of the things that came from the talk is my favorite thing about Christmas, on a Fun! physical plane: CHRISTMAS COOKIES! Yum!!!!!

I just love them… and I love the red and green colors and poinsettias. It just seems to usher in a very playful and heart opening experience for many beings around the world. (I use and like “beings” because it describes our true state).

On a metaphysical plane this year has a very high vibration for me. It feels like there is great! movement around the world in the Awakening.
[su_spacer]A friend of mine posted on my wall last week this beautiful tarantula sitting in her hand. I thought, “I wouldn’t do that… Wow! You really are fearless.” It turns out it had molted (left the skin) and looked like it was as real and still there as ever. I really thought it was…
[su_spacer]We who are NOT these bodies also have the ability to shed the personal self-identity that keeps us trapped in believing this is what we are. In fact, we must do this in the transformation and resurrection into Christ realization. We will look like we are the same but inside the old self has left. We are the Christ and Christmas is the celebration of the birth of the Awareness of Christ in all of us. In this Born again experience old things are passed away all things become NEW. You are a NEW creature in Christ.

We are pure Light Beings…

I’m going to invite you to realize this in your own mind right now!
[su_spacer]This is the Christ experience. Dissolving into the Source and what we truly are as PURE LIGHT.
[su_spacer]Sure you can still have fun! And all the Christmas goodies but let’s use the power of our Christ Mind to shed the old self and be raised into the power and experience of Pure Presence. This is what you are…

You are Christ born this day.

You are Perfect Peace, the Fire of God within and the Self.

Pause with me here: Put your hand on your sacred heart.

And say to yourself:

“I am Christ. I am Pure light.”

“This is my resurrection and birth into full Awareness as Christ I am.”

And so it is.

My Extreme Christmas Makeover

Yes, that’s right, I gave Christmas an extreme makeover.

OK, I used to dread Christmas. I HATED IT!! It was one big stressor for me. I was grouchy. I abhorred holiday music. Mainstream, conventional Christmas, for me, was about spending a Santa-sized sack full of money, standing in long lines at the department stores, all sweaty under my winter coat, afraid I won’t get it all “done in time” and it always triggered a feeling of “never enough”… It left me exhausted.

I was focusing on all the wrong stuff! None of those shenanigans matter! I’ve since learned the totally awesome Truth about Christmas, thanks to A Course In Miracles. I couldn’t wait to give my old ugly Christmas a new makeover.

Now I totally Love Christmas!

First of all, aside from shopping, decorating, wrapping, cooking and over-committing, I thought the birth of the historical Jesus was the main point of the Christmas story. Now I know that Christmas carries a meaning far beyond one man born two thousand years ago.

Christmas in the deepest sense is the celebration of His birth inside us all. If he is born anywhere, he is born in us.
[su_spacer]

Christ is being birthed in YOU!

We’re preparing for the birth of our possible selves.

This is an event which we have been psychologically pregnant all our lives!

Christ is born into the world through each of us.

Woah! This is a big deal people. We must prepare!

That’s what the Christmas season is really about.

How did we miss this?

But HOW to prepare (aka celebrate)?

You get more and more prepared every single time you:

● Open your heart (just a little willingness will do) to God and His Will

● Choose forgiveness for your brother AND yourself at every opportunity

● Trust

● Become aware of thoughts that don’t serve you and hand them over to your guide to be completely healed.

Jesus tells us over and over again not to judge by surface appearances. There is always much more going on than what our eyes see. He says, “as above, so below”. He was telling us that any visible event is showing what’s going on within us!!

● When you’re angry, you can give birth to gentleness

● When sorrowful, give birth to joy

● When you’re at war, you can birth peace.

Listen and listen well. Christmas is a season when we remember the ONLY REASON we’re here is to reach a higher state of consciousness. To raise us all (this means you) into a state of Heaven where pain, sickness, suffering and death do not exist. Ummm, please fill my stocking with a bunch of THAT and pass the eggnog.

Now, I feel like jingle-jangle celebrating!

Jesus, our brother, embodies this divine spark and is assigned the task of helping us do the same. Now there’s something for your “wish list”!

● Jesus tells us that He doesn’t have ANYTHING we don’t have! He just doesn’t have anything else clogging up his vision.

● He is showing us the potential for the rest of us. YES!

● He is a magnificent and eternal spiritual force. So are you.

● He is the transformer of perception because the only thing we need to be saved from is our own insanity; our own crazy thoughts.

● He is your friend and Comforter

● He is showing you, while on earth in your life right now, how to become what you Truly are. He represents who we were created to be and who we shall be. More than that, He can and WILL help us get there.

We should fall on our knees with praise and thanks at the realization of this.

Please remember, we can only birth something that is already within us. The Kingdom of God is already within YOU. Once you accept this, you will only know indescribable love, joy and peace. You will birth the total innocence and total holiness within you. That’s the #1 greatest news I’ve ever heard.

PARTY ON!

Jesus says you’ll laugh at the discovery that it has always been your natural state. You’re already there. You already have everything.

So, amid the hustle and bustle, you can CHOOSE to remember that this holiday is about celebrating YOUR OWN AWAKENING. Be joyful, playful, and make it a fun game. Whenever you see a wreath, remember that you are infinite and eternal with no beginning and no ending. You were never born and you will never taste death.

Let every star you see remind you to follow Jesus, just the way the dignitaries did. He is right here and he’s asking you to join Him. The Course says, “If you knew who walked beside you on this path that you have chosen, fear would be impossible.”

Mexican legend tells of a poor girl who could only offer the Baby Jesus a handful of weeds, but when she gave them to Him they blossomed into lush red plants. So, every time you see a Poinsettia, offer up all of your weeds, knowing they will be transformed into something beautiful.

You are the light of the world. Lights come in all colors and sizes, demonstrating that each one of us, no matter what color we are or WHERE WE ARE on this journey, are all reflections of God’s love.

All the needles on the tree point heavenward reminding us where to direct every thought.

Ornaments can represent how each of us can adorn this life with our gifts. Be yourself. That’s all you have to be. Never compare. God created you perfectly.

We are all tied together as one. We are not separate from God or separate from each other. Let the bow become a symbol of our Unity and brotherhood in Christ.

A Gingerbread man does not create himself. You do not create yourself. A cute and tasty reminder that you are as God created you.

Last, but certainly not least… the only real gift you can ever give anyone is to recognize the Christ in them with no judgment. This gift instantly heals both of you. Seriously, this is the gift that keeps on giving!

Finally, I’ll end with this beautiful Christmas quote from ACIM:

T-15.III.7. In this season (Christmas) which celebrates the birth of holiness into this world, join with me who decided for holiness for you. 2 It is our task together to restore the awareness of magnitude to the host whom God appointed for Himself. 3 It is beyond all your littleness to give the gift of God, but not beyond you. 4 For God would give Himself through you. 5 He reaches from you to everyone and beyond everyone to His Son’s creations, but without leaving you. 6 Far beyond your little world but still in you, He extends forever. 7 Yet He brings all His extensions to you, as host to Him.
